Apologies for the overnight outage

If you notice that the site was unavailable overnight 3rd/4th Jan, then this was to move it to a server with a more up-to-date PHP installation. This is to enable some more Drupal modules which require PHP5 to be enabled.

I'd hoped the outage would not have been so long, but the change to the address resolution took longer than anticipated.

cheers,
Ian

New look

I've re-done the look with a very customisable Drupal theme (Acquia Marina).

Let me know what you think.

OpenID enabled

Using an OpenID is another way to log in to this site. As it says on the OpenID website...

Can't remember your passwords? Tired of filling out registration forms?
OpenID is a safe, faster, and easier way to log in to web sites.

OpenID allows you to use an existing account to sign in to multiple websites, without needing to create new passwords.

Email subscription for admins

I've enabled event administrators to subscribe to be notified via email when activity takes place on the site.

I've also taken the liberty of subscribing the admins to this blog - which will, of course, notify them of the new notification system. The notification e-mails the system sends has a link to unsubscribe if they'd prefer not to participate, but I'd suggest they give it a chance before doing that.

Login problem - solved?

It seems like the login problem we suffered from last year has gone away.

Use the email link at the bottom of the page if you still see the problem.

Recent website problems

Sorry for the site being offline for a while recently - I was making sure the software was up to date but (embarrassingly!) was putting the updates in the wrong place on the server and not noticing.

Then the additional modules had to be upgraded to and there were some additional security features which needed some customisation - the custom fields in events can now be subject to permissions which meant that most of them were not showing up in the default public view.
